“Dea open air” festival, the seventh edition with the film competition in Tirana
The international film festival “Dea open air” this year comes in its seventh edition. This is the second edition that takes place in Tirana, after five editions in Saranda and Gjirokastra, after which the organizers decided in favor of the geographical expansion of the festival presence, due to its feeds. The festival in its seventh edition will take place from October 11 to 16 in Tirana. The festival comes in its seventh edition with about 70 cinematographic productions, feature, short and documentary feature films will be screened in the amphitheater of the University of Arts, but due to the pandemic, online presentation will not be missing. In the announcement of the festival, it is announced that the center continues to be the feature film program, in which this year films from Kosovo, Germany, Russia, Italy, Belarus and Montenegro. This program will be offered every evening in the amphitheater of the University of Arts, at 19.00. This year the short film section contains 22 films from 13 countries, which will be offered every evening in the amphitheater of the University of Arts and online on the official website of “Dea open air” (deafilmfest.al), at 21.00. Films and cinema specialists at the festival
In its last six editions, the international film festival “Dea open air” has consolidated its place in the world of cinema. According to the organizers, not only the best films of the European cinema industry of recent years have taken up its screen, but more and more of them. “The trend is also reflected in this year’s feeds, despite the pandemic conditions, which are reflected in the reduced number of filmmakers physically present from Europe and the world, but by no means in the number of participating works”, the announcement for the festival continues. All participants have applied to the Film Freeway and Festhome platforms or directly to the festival address. Applicants this year come not only from European countries but also beyond, giving the application, as in previous editions intercontinental geography. The submitted films and the authors participating in the competition have initially undergone the preliminary selection of international commissions, closed at the end of January 2020. The festival announcement states that the cinema specialists, directors of several other European film festivals , but also the actors, directors, producers and guest journalists, who give the activity the liveliness and multidimensional communication that the cinema always promises and realizes will be this year a pandemic partially present realistically, but very intensively virtually accessing the films as well as communicate with each other online. The official opening ceremony of the seventh edition of the international film festival “Dea open air Tirana 2020” will be organized in the cinema “Dea open air 1” – the amphitheater of the University of Arts. The gala evening of the awards ceremony of the seventh edition will take place in the cinema “Dea open air 2” -University of Arts. The seventh edition of the festival is supported by the Municipality of Tirana, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kosovo and the University of Arts.
